Revolta has been playing League of Legends competitively since 2012. Currently the Jungler for the Brazilian team INTZ e-Sports, Revolta has helped his team to several first place tournament finishes in 2015 including the 2015 CBLoL First Split and CBLoL Post Season 2015, the former of which earned INTZ e-Sports a berth into the 2015 International Wild Card Invitational held in Turkey. Revolta posted an impressive 11.1 KDA, the highest in the entire tournament, and INTZ e-Sports tied for second place with a 4-2 record.
Revolta was the most voted Jungler to represent the Brazilian server in the 2015 International Wildcard All-Stars and has also played on Insight eSports, Keyd, and CNB e-Sports Club. I recently had the opportunity to speak with Revolta about what he thinks of this season’s changes to League of Legends and get his opinion on trash talking opponents.
What are your thoughts about the latest string of huge patches that have released over the last few months?
I like the new patches overall and I like the way League of Legends is always changing. I think it’s really important both for the game and for the players.
Do you think turrets are too weak now?
No I don't think turrets are too weak. I think they've been exposed for when you die because of your own mistakes especially. Sure I think turrets are weaker than before, but it doesn't mean that they're useless or something.
Being a Jungler for INTZ, how have the last three patches affected jungling? Is it easier or harder?
Jungling is both easier and harder. In terms of action it's harder because you have to be so much more active but, in terms of clearing the jungle etc, it’s actually easier.
Which item or items do you think are most undervalued or overlooked by people?
I think the green smite is the most undervalued. It’s really useful and overlooked. I think that even though the item is really good, it’s not the only option you have for APC (talking about the support item for midlaners).
Is there a champion you feel is legitimately overpowered?
An overpowered champion? Definitely MF is one of the biggest picks in this patch.
What do you think could make Dominion more appealing to players?
I don't know... I think Summoner's Rift is a perfect map and we don't need another one. Dominion is fun, but not as competitive as the 5x5 mode.
What has been the biggest hurdle you've overcome in your e-Sports career thus far?
The biggest obstacle that I've faced is probably how to concentrate really well during a game. It's a really hard thing to do but its sooooo important. Some players just don't know when they are or aren't concentrating, they just play. So, it's really hard to keep that focus and continue to concentrate.
What are your thoughts about trash talk in e-Sports?
As in any other competition, there will always be some guys trash talking because of ego or because of anything they see that makes them feel superior to others. I think that trash talking someone to put the person down is completely unacceptable. It doesn't matter if it’s a competition and putting a person down might help you to win. You have to remember that we’re all human and you have to respect others.
Can you tell me a bit about the role a coach plays on a competitive League of Legends team?
So basically the coach in League has many functions. There are coaches to help the players in terms of life, and there are the coaches that like to help players in terms of gaming. It's like a gift that the Coach has and he has to explore it. I don't think there is any ''complete'' coach in the world that will talk about life, understand about the game, and guide you through everything. But he can always be like your big brother.
What are some of your hobbies outside of video games and League of Legends?
My hobbies... hmm... I love to go to the beach and have fun with my friends. I like feeling nature and going all the way up into a mountain and appreciating the view. It all makes me feel really good and makes me feel like I've been born again.
